Sharjah is the third largest and the third most populated city of the UAE, next to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Sharjah does not have the tall buildings and malls of Dubai; yet, it does more than anyone else to preserve the rich culture and heritage and has earned Sharjah the title-the cultural capital of the UAE from UNESCO in 1998.
Sharjah is a subtle and conservative, yet an exciting and lively city.
